Week 1 make-up, Nov 8th

The last game of the season, playing for nothing but pride. The players came out slow the first half. I was very proud to see after a little redirection by the coaching staff everybody came out & shout the Ravens out the second half. Coach Phil & I were happy to see the kids not just quit after they got behind. We learned a lot this year playing tough games every week. Thanks for the hard work.

Week 8, Nov 1st

The fight to stay out of last place in our division fell short. I won’t say much about this one because I was a little disappointed at some of the effort we gave at times & the way we took till almost halftime to start playing ball. It was too little to late.
Welcome back Jacob.
The fans were cheering hard for the players, Thanks we need all your support. I’m sorry to everyone who did their best. This one should have ended up differently. We need to refocus & end on a high note next week.
Keep your heads up. You've done well this year even if the record doesn't look like it.

Week 7, Oct 25th

This one hurts a lot. For the first time since I’ve been coaching football it looks like we won’t be in the playoffs. Some times you’re just on the wrong side of the lucky draw. All season our groups of 10 year old boys & girl have been fighting a tough battle every week. Before the season started we knew we had been put in what was considered the toughest division in of 10-11 year olds. With a team of 18 tens & 1 eleven we’ve been clawing every week in tough fights coming up just short. In other divisions we may have been as high as a 2 seed but it wasn’t in the plan for us. Everybody came out ready to play & Coach Phil & I were very proud of the kids for fighting till the end in a hard overtime loss to the Mansfield Leopards.

Week 6, Oct 18th

This week's goals were to do the best we can &, never quit no matter what happens. WOW! I knew this team was good but I was hoping to slow them a bit. My hats off to the Grand Prairie Seminoles. I would like to say to all my kids, "Thanks for fighting till the end" even though the 'Noles were rolling. We were lacking in age & size but through injuries & a rough night I'm proud to say I'm your coach.

ABD Sr. White's night out.

Coach John, Phil, & I thought it would be fun for the ABD Sr. White players to get out together away from practice. We took them to a High School football game, Bowie vs Lamar. I would like to thank the coaches of Bowie for not only having us as their guests but allowing use to take the players to the sidelines during the game. Thanks to Coach Perry of Bowie High & the Barnett Jr. High coaches for taking time during halftime to talk to the kids. And a special thanks to Coach Kemp of Bowie High for working with me to get the whole thing together.

Week 5, Oct 11th

Eight seconds left in the game. We are winning 12-8. Riverside has the ball around mid field. The coaches are yelling PASS, PASS. The defense bits on the run. The ball is thrown/caught, touchdown, game over. I'm warn out just reliving it Just imagine how drained we were as all this was happening. That makes two games in a row we've lost that we should of won. These aren't examples of teams being better then us, it's a matter of discipline & youth. First year Sr. coaches, a group of almost all ten year olds. We are coming together & learning under fire. I just hope we get it on track soon enough to get to the post season. Let's keep working & we'll be OK no matter what happens. Hard Work - Pays Off.

Week 4, Oct 4th

This was a game we shouldn't of lost. I want to take a moment to point out some positives. The defense controlled Burleson's offense the whole game. The offense controlled the clock slowly working it's way down the field. The O-line started OK then had some problems but didn't quit & fixed their problems to help work the ball down the field. Although we fell short on the scoreboard this game was the opposite of last weeks game & showing we are heading in the right direction. This was a game where we beat the other team in every area except the score. We made errors but didn't quit & stepped up to make up for them. I'm proud of the players for their effort & challenge then to start the game at full speed instead of taking a couple quarters to get going.

Week 3, Homecoming, Sept 27th

In the 5 years I've been coaching this was one of my most disappointing game I've been apart of. I don't know what was wrong but we didn't play like I know we can. We played the defending Superbowl champs, a very good team, put we made them look like All Stars. My hats are off to a group of my biggest competitors, the Panther coaching staff. To our boys & girls I just want to say don't give up because your coaches won't give up on you. For those of you who kept fighting no matter what, "Thanks". For those of you who got discouraged, "Hard work Pays off.

Week 2, Sept 20th

Finally the first ballgame. ABD Sr. White 30 - Mansfield Bearcats 6
Myself, the coaching staff, & the players have been chomping at the bit wanting to play. The Defense started off like they never took any time off. Numerous sacks & stuffs by the D-line & linebackers & two big INT's by Mr. Curtis Hollis. The new bright spot was the passing game. Both Ben & Curtis through the ball well with big catches by a few different players. We started celebrating the win about a minute early & let the Bearcats run the kick return back to blow the shut-out.

This team is young but talented. We expect big things this year.

Go BLUE DEVILS!

NTYFA/TCU Camp, June '08

Camp AGGIE, June '08

Brik & I went to Texas A&M this summer for football camp. Brik's team won the Aggie Ball tournament & got to play on Kyle field. I was a very proud Dad & Coach. Coach Turner, the O-line coach, nick named Brik "Hack-saw". He said Brik had the best form & stance of any lineman in the camp.

As a former student at A&M I loved watching my son in maroon & white running around the Texas A&M campus.
