NTYFA Superbowl in Arlington, TX

The Arlington Blue Devils Hosted the 2009 NTYFA Superbowl this past weekend at Cravens Field (at Arlington - Lamar High School) in Arlington, TX.

Thanks to all the Blue Devils sponsors that helped make this day happen.

Play-offs Round 2, 11/21/09

REMATCH! Cold, Wet, & Muddy. We are in for a sloppy game this night. The Cheetahs & Blue Devils go back & forth on the field till the Cheetahs push one in. The Blue Devils quickly answer through the air to set up the tying touchdown & 2 point conversion. Emotions running high going into halftime tied & win or go home on everybody’s mind the second half starts. More of the same till the Devils give the ball up deep in their own territory three times in a row putting an end to our roller coaster season with a 28-8 loss. It’s been an honor & pleasure coaching this group of young men. Most of this unit will move onto Jr. High football & I would like to with them all the best of luck & I hope they have enjoyed their time with me.

Play-offs Round 2 Results, Saturday 11/21/09
Junior ABD Blue 18 - GP Seminoles, Maroon 6

Week 5, 10/10/09

Tough game this week.
We were playing a well coached Burleson Red team that came from behind to beat us last year. With a 6-0 lead most of the game Phil & I were very anxious to get more points on the board to keep the same from happening again. With the Defense not allowing Burleson in the red zone all game we ran the ball for some tough yards till we finally got loose to open up to a 2 score lead giving us a little breathing room. Ending in a hard fought 14-0 win
Players of the game TBA:
Vertis Garrett, Brylin Johnson, Blake Gross

ABD Results Week 5
ABD Btm 12 - Mansfield Bobcats 26
ABD Jr.White 8 - GP Seminoles Maroon 6
ABD Jr.Blue 48 - Mansfield Wildcats 0

Week 4, 10/03/09

Coach Charlie & Coach Phillip

Brik Hogue & Curtis Hollis

Antoine "Water Coach" Roshell & Coach Rojae
Well back on track this week. 52-0 win. Now that’s how to bounce back from a bad game. A lot of good things happened this & at the top of my list is the way the O-line moved around getting out in front of runners.
Players of the game were on the O-line:
Brik Hogue, Antoine "AJ" Roshell, Jason Simpson, Eric Dixon, Da'Reous Warren, & Mekhi Shelley.
Nice job O-line.

ABD Results Week 4
ABD Btm 30 - Burleson Raiders White 20
ABD Jr.White 30 - Burleson Raiders Silver 6
ABD Jr.Blue 46 - Burleson Raiders White 0
ABD Sr.Blue 8 - Crowley Eagles Purple 42
ABD Sr.White 52 - Westside Cowboys Blue 0

Week 3, 9/26/09

From good to bad. The flu is hitting us hard. We played what looks to be our toughest regular season opponent this Saturday. Loosing 6-0 at half-time the game was well within reach. Between our health & bad attitudes we feel apart in the fourth quarter to end up loosing 26-0. Upsetting game.
Players of the game were:
1. Curtis Hollis for never quitting even though he was banded up & we didn’t have a sub for him at QB..
2. DeTraycus "DJ" Jordon, this little power pack ran the ball hard & didn’t shy away from anything.3. Nick Thurston for stepping in for others who weren’t at full strength & playing a very good game on the D-line even though his half the size of the players he was going against.

ABD Results Week 3
ABD Btm 22 - Crowley Eagles Black 6
ABD Jr.White 22 - Westside Cowboys Blue 0
ABD Jr.Blue 50 - Burleson Raiders Black 0
ABD Sr.Blue 0 - TCU Vikings Purple 20
ABD Sr.White 0 - Mansfield Cheetahs 26

Week 2, 9/19/09

Finally got to play & started the season with a bang. 36-0 win over the Burleson Raiders – White. A few issues us coaches needed to work out on our end but all in all a very nice start.
Players of the game were:
1. Seymour Battle even though he wasn’t up to full health he still had a few sacks while being a monster at DT.
2. Xavier "X" Hodges for his second half interception.
3. Trent Elliott for stepping up & playing a very good game in several positions. No matter where I put him he gave 100%.

Week 1

Rain Rain Go Away.

A lot of work went into week 1 just to postpone it all. Two years in a row the heavy rains has caused week 1 to be shut down. Hopefully the rain will allow us to get our work in this week to be ready for Burleson White.

The Summer Time

Arlington 4th of July Parade

The summer before Brik's last season of pee-wee football has been long. Four football camps have helped keep me busy. NTYFA / TCU football camp the first weekend after school was out to both Texas Premiere Football Camp & Camp LT the last week of June & finally ABD football mini-camp August 1st.
They have all helped set up the final pee-wee year for Brik & his friends. Brik & I got started 6 years ago with pee=wee football & it's been a wonderful time. Next up is the draft & the farewell tour begins.
