Bears soccer, Games 4 & 5

Gm 5: This game got out of hand quick. An 8-1 win over the Tigers. Another 8 goals could have been scored but the ball kept bouncing off the Tigers goalie. Ty got his 1st goal by redirecting the shot into the goal. Good job getting the ball going in the right direction.

Gm 4: We had to start the game short handed but players kept rolling in during the 1st two periods. This game started off as our most completive early on till we lit it up with 3 goals in the last two periods to beat the Warriors 3-0.

Raiders Basketball, Games 2, 3, & 4

Gm 4: This one was a very rough game for us Raiders. Nothing seemed to go our way although it was bad from the start most of the boys hustled clear to the end. Always play hard till the end no matter what. 30-10 loss to the Cowboys.

Gm 3: We got back on track from week 2 with a very strong 28-17 win over the Gators. I was proud of everyone running the offense & I think everybody got a score this week.

Gm 2: We seemed to slow down a bit this week. Maybe because we just put in some new offensive plays or the 6pm time slot was kind of late, don’t know. But we didn’t stop & toward the end of the game we were making a push to close the gap when we just ran out of time. 17-29 loss to the Wolverines.

Bears soccer, Week 2 & 3

Gm3: 1/23: The first week we’ve had all 10 players at the game. We did our best job keeping our hands off the ball & almost everybody did a good job turning the ball around into the correct. As a team we’ve grown already since our first game. Goals scored by multiple players this week & a couple others came really close to scoring. Superstar of the game went to Noble for keeping the ball going in the correct direction & getting on the score board for the first time. Super 6-3 win over the Grinches. Let’s keep getting better & have fun.

*********************************** Gm2: 1/16: Well Jaxon came off the bench this week & Andrew made it to his first game. Andrew had a little rough start but by the end of the game was running & kicking with the rest of the bunch. David is always a big player but the Superstar of the game went to Samuel for stepping up & helping score a few goals this week. We worked on no hands & turning the ball around to the correct direction. 5-2 win over the Cubs. Good job Bears.

Raiders Basketball game 1/16/2010

The first basketball game of the year & we started it off on the right foot. The boys played a very good game in spite of the fact we've only had 2 practices. Several steals leading to scores helped lead us to a nice 22-17 win over the Eagles. Hustle awards for everybody. Keep up the good work.

Bears Soccer game, 1/9/10

1, 2, 3 BEARS

Well we started the season off with a big 8-0 win over the Grinches we only had seven players this week & Jaxon wouldn't come off the bench till late in the game. Super-star of the game was David with all 8 goals.

Sorry but I'm running a little behind so let me recap what's been going on since the Superbowl.

December 11-13: Phil & I entered 15 boys that have played for use over the last 6 years into an All-Star Tournament. We advanced to the 3rd round in the winner’s bracket before loosing our first game. After back-to-back losses we finished in 3rd place.

December 19-20: ABD Sr. White end of year banquet at the Great Wolf Lodge.

December 31st: Annual trip to the Armed Forces Bowl.

The Arlington Blue Devils Hosted the 2009 NTYFA Superbowl this past weekend at Cravens Field (at Arlington - Lamar High School) in Arlington, TX.

Play-offs Round 2, 11/21/09

REMATCH! Cold, Wet, & Muddy. We are in for a sloppy game this night. The Cheetahs & Blue Devils go back & forth on the field till the Cheetahs push one in. The Blue Devils quickly answer through the air to set up the tying touchdown & 2 point conversion. Emotions running high going into halftime tied & win or go home on everybody’s mind the second half starts. More of the same till the Devils give the ball up deep in their own territory three times in a row putting an end to our roller coaster season with a 28-8 loss. It’s been an honor & pleasure coaching this group of young men. Most of this unit will move onto Jr. High football & I would like to with them all the best of luck & I hope they have enjoyed their time with me.

Play-off time is here. After last year the boys were looking to give a little payback to the Grand Prairie Seminoles. We quickly jumped out to a lead & held off the GP Seminoles air attack to win a well fought 30 to 14 game against a very good Grand Prairie Coaching staff.

Week 1 Make-Up, 11/7/09

Gearing up for the play-offs we wanted to keep the rotation going while fine tuning a few things. In a defensive battle in the first we managed to come out with an 8-0 lead at the half. The tune quickly changed in the second half racking the points up to end with a 30-0 victory over the Mansfield Bearcats.
