Mansfield Bengals @ ABD Jr Blue, Week 4

This week we played our home game at UTA's Maverick Stadium. With all the other teams out scouting us we decided to go plain vanilla & not give much away. With the last second schedule change giving us the Mansfield Bengals we didn't know much about them. We under estimated them & they gave us a tough day. With all the blow-outs we've been having I was proud to see the boys didn't shut down & quit when the going got a little tough. At half time the coaches talked to the guys & we went down & scored 6. With time running down the Offense got a big 1st down at the 1 yard line to allow us to just let the clock run out. The Defense again held our opponent to ZERO, good job guys. I was proud the boys dug deep & proved they are true winners by never giving up. We've got a BYE 10/6 then Conference play starts @ the Mansfield Timberwolves 10/13.

Coach,
You should really give the people that are reading this an accurate account of what happened at last week's game. Telling them that you went plain vanilla is ridiculous. Telling them that you decided to run the clock out once you got to the one yard line is inaccurate. Leading them to believe that your coaches talked to your boys at halftime and then they went down and scored is false. The truth is that you were lucky to even get a touchdown, and most important, you were lucky to get a win. But a win is a win. Congrats to your boys for playing a great game. And by the way, Offence and Defence are spelled with an "s" (Offense and Defense). Good Luck and see you in the playoffs, Coach.

Thanks for the spelling tips. It sounds like someone might be a little bitter. & since we used only a couple hand fulls of plays, & since whomever wrote the eairler comment wasn't at our half-time he would not know our linemen did just as they were told allowing us to score. Also with seconds left on the clock & Mansfield failing to hold us from getting a 1st down, even after we took the delay of game on 4th down, some on our team wanted to use our last time-out to run one more play, since it was 1st & goal from inside the 1 yard line. And saying we were lucky to just get a win is a streach since the Blue Devils defense had more yardage pushing Mansfield backwards then Manfield had going forward. We can afford to go vanilla on offense because Mansfeild couldn't get through the Blue Devils D. All said it was a good game & nobody on either team quit trying to win. Thanks for the good game Mansfield. This win means more because we worked for it. Next time go a head & sign your name to your comments.

C'mon Coach,
It's stretch, not streach. It's ahead, not a head.

These are teams of 9 and 10 year olds. Let's play nice guys.

Well, 8 & 9 year olds anyway. We still need to play nice.

It's sad that people can be so bitter after our kids played so hard. Both teams. It was a great game, let's give both teams a hand and be proud of our kids without all these negativ comments.
Thank you Charlie for keeping your cool.
Go Blue Devils!!!
Thanks to all our coaches.
